Intel Core i7-990X advantages

  • More CPU cores on the Intel Core i7-990X help to process multiple simultaneous programs or threads.
  • Base frequency of the Core i7-990X processor is higher than the frequency of the i7-4770R CPU.
  • The clock multiplier on the Intel i7-990X is not locked. To get greater performance from the processor, it can be overclocked with ease.
  • The Intel Core i7-990X uses Socket 1366, and can be removed from it without effort. This allows simple processor upgrade or downgrade when desired.

Intel Core i7-4770R advantages

  • The i7-4770R features AVX, AVX2, F16C and FMA3 instructions. These extensions are not extensively used in applications yet, however their support should improve in future programs.
  • The CPU has on-chip Iris Pro 5200 GPU. This GPU replaces low-end graphics card, and thus lowers the cost of the system.
  • The Intel Core i7-4770R is 50% more energy efficient than the Intel Core i7-990X processor.
