  • This microprocessor has FMA4 and XOP instructions, that appeared in modern processors not too far ago. These extensions are not widely used by applications yet, however their support should improve in future programs.
  • FMA3 instructions are enabled on this processor. This extension is only offered on AMD CPUs, thus it probably will not get broad support from software vendors.
  • The AMD A10-4600M microprocessor is 55% more energy efficient than the Intel Core i7-3770K.

Intel Core i7-3770K advantages

Intel Core i7-3770K

  • The CPU incorporates Hyper-Threading feature. This technology allows each CPU core to run two threads simultaneously.
  • Operating frequency of the CPU is higher than the frequency of the AMD A10-4600M.
  • The Intel i7-3770K processor is not "locked". Consequentally, the microprocessor can be effortlessly overclocked on most motherboards to achieve greater performance. Be warned that overclocking can void CPU warranty.

A10-4600M vs i7-3770K specifications comparison

The graphs below show the difference between Intel i7-3770K and AMD A10-4600M most important characteristics. These features, as well as an IPC (instructions per cycle) number, determine how well a CPU performs. The "Number of cores / threads" graph shows the number of cores (darker area). Lighter area on the graph represents the number of additional threads, provided by Hyper-Threading technology. The "Operating frequency" chart uses dark color to represent base frequency, whereas lighter area is for extra frequency, provided by Turbo feature. Darker area on the "On-chip cache" graph is for the On-chip L2 cache. Lighter area is for the L3 cache cache. While the L3 cache cache is usually larger than the On-chip L2 cache, it is always slower.
