AMD Athlon Argon core

Athlon Argon core was the first K7 core. This core didn't last long - it was introduced in June of 1999, and was replaced by Pluto core in November 1999.

AMD Athlon processors with Argon core can be identified by:

  • Part number: part number starts with "AMD-K7" and ends with character "C".
    An example: AMD-K7550MTR51B C.
  • CPU ID: Processors with the Argon core have CPU identification numbers 611 and 612.
