The Cascades core was introduced on Oct 25, 1999. This core is based on P6 microarchitecture.

New core features:

  • 0.18 micron
  • On-die L2 cache
  • 133 MHz Front Side Bus

Pentium III processors with Cascades core can be identified by:

  • Part number: part number contains "80526K".
    An example: 80526KZ933256 2.8V.
  • CPU ID: Cascades processors have CPU identification numbers 681, 683, 686, as well as CPU IDs that begin with 6A. Please note that Pentium III Coppermine microprocessors also have 681, 683 and 686 CPU IDs.

I can verify that the Cascades core works in 8-way systems (at least on the 100MHz bus, 2MB L2 variety).

You have it listed as 4-way capable. I believe its limitation is only with chipset, and can go up to 32-way, but I'm not 100% positive.
