The Prescott core was introduced on Feb 2, 2004. This core is based on NetBurst microarchitecture. New core features:
Identification of microprocessors with Prescott core:
Celeron D microprocessors have modified Prescott core that
includes 256 KB of level 2 cache memory. To distinguish this core from
Pentium 4 Prescott core with 1MB L2 cache the Celeron D core is often
called Prescott-256. Also, to distinguish between Prescott Pentium 4
cores with different sizes of L2 cache, the core with 2 MB L2 cache
is often called Prescott-2M.
