AMD Regor core

"Regor" is a K10-based core, that was used in Athlon II X2 and Sempron X2 microprocessors. The first Regor processor, Athlon II X2 250, was introduced in June 2009. This part had 2 CPU cores, running at 3 GHz, and 2 MB L2 cache. The 250 was quickly followed by slower X2 240 and X2 245 models. Over time, AMD increased frequencies of Regor products to 3.6 GHz. The latest Regor model was Athlon II X2 280, and it was launched in January 2013.

Regor processors supported the same technologies as Propus and Deneb counterparts, but there were a couple of significant differences between them. Propus and Deneb dies had 4 CPU cores and 512 KB L2 cache per core (Deneb also had 6 MB L3 cache), while Regor die had two CPU cores and 1 MB L2 cache, dedicated to each core. Not all Regor microprocessors had both cores and full size of L2 cache enabled. AMD released some Regor-based Athlon II X2 models with smaller L2 cache. Also, "Sargas" core, used in Semprons and Athlon IIs, was essentially the "Regor" design with one CPU core disabled.

Identification of microprocessors with Regor core:

  • By part number: part number starts with "AD2", "ADX2", "ADXB2" or "ADXB3", and ends with "GQ" or "GM" on tray processors, and "GQBOX" or "GMBOX" on boxed parts.
    An example: AD240EHDK23GQ, AD240EHDGMBOX
  • By stepping code (the line below the part number on the top of the CPU): the code starts with "xAExx AE", where "x" is any digit or letter.
    An example: CAEEC AE 0932GFM
  • By CPU ID: CPU identification number is 100F52, 100F62 or 100F63. Please note that Athlon II X3 and Phenom II X4 may have CPU ID 100F52. Sempron, Athlon II Dual-Core Mobile, Mobile Sempron, Turion II Dual-Core Mobile and Turion II Ultra Dual-Core Mobile may have CPU ID 100F62 and 100F63.
