Dec 24
I spent most of my spare time in the last two weeks updating CPU Upgrade website, and did only a few minor updates of the CPU World site. I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow, so there won't be any updates on CPU-World for another week. All submitted comments will be approved when I get back. I wish all site visitors Happy Holidays!

In the past two weeks I didn't have time to update news on the front page, so below is a list of updates for the last two weeks:

Nov 24
Many new S-spec codes were added to the S-Spec database. I also posted information on missing from our site OEM-only Core 2 Duo mobile processors, and a few desktop and mobile processors that will be released this or next month. To see all upcoming and recently released microprocessors I created Desktop CPU releases page. Similar page with release dates of mobile AMD and Intel microprocessors will be added later this week.

  This week's changes:
Intel A80376-16
Intel
A80376-16

Intel A80376-16

Nov 11
I posted preliminary information on Intel Core i7 microprocessor family: basic CPU features, CPU chart and socket 1366 page. As soon as Intel officially releases the Core i7 family I will update the pages. Also, CPU-World's front page was updated to display a timeline of modern desktop microprocessors with links to most important CPU families.

Last week I've made another change to comments - users, registered in CPU-World forum, can now post the comments without pre-moderation. Please avoid posting unrelated comments or troubleshooting/upgrade questions - those will be removed. From other updates I wanted to mention a few new uploaded benchmarks.

Oct 26
This week I've made a few modifications to CPU and S-spec pages:
  • From now on all CPU pictures uploaded by site visitors will be displayed in the pictures section of CPU pages. You can see how it looks on the Core 2 Duo E8200 page. Almost all previously uploaded pictures (there are more than 1000 of them) are currently displayed as comments. I will eventually fix all of them.
  • Many CPU and all S-Spec pages now include "Link to this page" feature, which allows any site visitor to get a link to the CPU/S-spec page as an HTML or BB code.
  • Many CPU and all S-spec pages now have "Get HTML code" feature. This feature will be mostly useful for people who wants to post CPU or S-spec information on eBay and other auction sites. To use it click on the "Get HTML code" link on a page, select desired information style in a popup window, grab a generated HTML code and include it in your auction description.

There were no major updates on the CPU-World in the past two weeks. Most on my time I spent updating my other site - CPU-Upgrade. There will be a few more updates on the CPU-Upgrade.com, after that I'll get back to working on the CPU-World.

  Last week's changes:
  • I posted benchmark results of socket 775 and socket AM2/AM2+ processors. We now have some Phenom X4 benchmarks, so overall our CPU benchmark chart has pretty good coverage of many all modern processors with the exception of the most expensive ones (Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Extreme, Xeons). For many processors we added Euler3D, WinRAR and 7-Zip benchmarks. Benchmark chart was slightly improved - you can now quickly see next / previous benchmark results by clicking on the "Previous" and "Next" buttons, and the chart now remembers selected processor.
  • Many S-Spec numbers were added to the site, probably half of them are qualification and engineering samples.
  • Uploaded pictures of AMD Opteron processors (see below).
