Jun 28
I added identification of AMD Geode processors, started on identification of Intel boxed CPUs, and I've made many minor changes to identification pages. Identification tool was updated too.

Jun 27
I added information and two pictures of embedded K6-2E+ CPUs. AMD K6-2 family should be complete now, i.e. it should have all K6-2 processors that were officially released by AMD.

I added three more pages with information on Pentium II/III CPU cores: Klamath, Deschutes and Katmai. I also updated AMD K8 stepping codes and added new S-Spec numbers.

Jun 21
Core 2 Duo Mobile CPU chart was added to the site.

Jun 18
Information on Covington and Mendocino cores was added to microprocessor cores page. Mendocino page doesn't include data on mobile processors - I will include it when I add these processors to the site.

Jun 17
Today I re-organized Pentium II CPU family. I combined together pages for OEM and boxed microprocessors, and in some cases corrected part numbers. Many pages were moved, but that shouldn't result in broken links as the site now automatically redirects from old pages to new pages. Pentium II, Pentium II Xeon, Pentium Pro and Mobile Pentium II S-Spec numbers were updated too and they now point to correct pages.

Jun 16
I posted pictures of mobile Pentium non-MMX CPUs.

Information on Core 2 Duo Mobile CPUs was added to Core 2 CPU family. I'm going to create CPU chart for these processors in the next few days.

Jun 9
I didn't have time to post pictures of Mobile Pentium III processors yesterday, so I did it today. Many posted pictures are for CPUs in micro-PGA2 package, there is only one picture for CPU in BGA2 package.

I added information on mobile Pentium III CPUs.

Today I posted die pictures that I received a few weeks ago from William Blair. You will find the pictures or links to them on the Microprocessor die pictures page. New pictures have light-gray background. Also, a few pictures were added to three different families - links to these families have (New) text next to the family name.

May 27
I posted data on socket 478 Willamette Celerons and Northwood Celerons. Intel Celeron page now has all desktop processors.

May 26
I added many missing CPUs to AMD K8 family pages. For a full list of new CPU pages please see here. I also made many minor corrections and additions to K8 processors, and added identification of Turion CPUs and socket S1 mobile Sempron microprocessors. All K8 CPU charts were updated too.

May 23
Seven new pictures Hitachi and Toshiba 68000 microprocessors were added to Motorola 68000 CPU page. Many of added CPUs are in plastic shrink DIP package - the package has the same pinout as normal DIP package, but has smaller lead pitch (distance between adjacent pins), which results in smaller package size.

CPU-World home page has a new look. The goal of the home page re-design was to make the page frendlier to first time visitors, and make most of CPU-related information easily accessible. As you can see I broke information into few sections - Modern and vintage processors, Information, Tools and News sections. I added quick jump menus to Modern and Vintage CPUs, and Information section - you can use these to go directly to CPU pages or to page with CPU-related information. News section was moved out of the way to the bottom of the page - I'm sure many first time visitors don't care much about it.

I added pictures of 8 different processors to AMD K8 CPU family. There are three pictures of AMD Turion CPUs, two pictures of Athlon 64 microprocessors, one socket S1 Mobile Sempron CPU, one Mobile Athlon 64 and one Sempron. May 16 update: the pictures were not accessible yesterday and most of the day today because I forgot to copy updated pages and pictures from my development computer to CPU-World. This is fixed now.

I added the latest Core 2 Duo S-Spec numbers, as well as many submitted S-Spec codes to the S-spec database. Comments on recently submitted S-Spec numbers page are not updated yet - they will ve updated this weekend.

I spent some time after vacation assessing what was done with the site this year. I added information on many modern processors, which was done at the expense of other pages on the site. A lot of vintage CPU families haven't been updated for very long time. So, I'm changing my priorities and I will be updating all CPU families in the next few months. This week I already updated descriptions for about a dozen of families - Intel Pentium, Intel 8087, 80386, etc. I'm not going to post news about these updates, otherwise I'll have to post news each and every day :) New pictures will be posted once or twice per week. New processor families will be added too, but not as often as I did before.

Apr 19
I'm leaving for 10-day vacation. During that time I won't be able to update the site, approve comments and respond to e-mails. I didn't have time to respond to many comments from last and this week regarding motherboard upgrades - for all these posters I recommend to re-post their question in the forum.

Apr 13
Zilog Z80 architecture page was added to the site.

Apr 11
Long ago I bought Intel 80486 promotion kit. This week I found time to take pictures of the kit and individual CPUs from the kit, and post them online.

Apr 8
I added 3 pictures of mobile Athlon XP-M CPUs based on K8 architecture:

Two new CPU charts are online: Dual-Core Opteron chart and Second Generation Opteron chart. Combined CPU chart was updated too.

Apr 5
Good news for the site! All of the website work that I did in the past was done on weeknights and weekends. Starting this week I'll be spending one extra day each week working on the site. I hope that this will result in more information and features added to the site.
