I broke S-Spec family pages into multiple pages. So, instead of one page with 100 - 300 S-Spec numbers you will find now a few pages each listing no more than 40 - 50 S-Spec numbers. Also, I added a few links between different steppings of chips. See, for example, QKE0. I'll add more data during the next update of S-Spec pages.

I updated Weitek 1164/1165 FPU family. There are three new chips in the family in PGA and ceramic DIP packages. I also included Weitek 1163, even though I'm not sure if it belongs to this family or not. I still don't have any real information on these chips.

CPU collection is not the only collection I have. Over time I acquired small number of microprocessor-related promotional items. Today I present first part of this collection of promotional items - Intel Pentium key chains and pins.

I added three engineering samples to Rise Technology MP6 CPU family. I'm afraid there is nothing to see there now except pictures as I don't have any information for these processors. Two of the samples are in very unusual packages for MP6 family - one is in ceramic PGA package, and another is in plastic PGA (similar to Pentium MMX PPGA). Both unusual CPUs are recognized as MP6 processors during boot up, unfortunately the system fails when it starts loading OS.

Rise Technology

Rise Technology MP6430BYY (Engineering sample)
Rise Technology MP6430CNE (Engineering sample)
Rise Technology MP6 166 MHz - MP6441RPFE4-ES (2.7V 2x83 MHz)

I added two collector sites to "Links" section: "CPU-CN.COM" and "Thomas CPU Collection". One note about CPU-CN.COM - this site represents multiple collectors and it's possible to browse the collections by collector, or by family, or by manufacturer.

Updated processor identification pages: Toshiba, AMD Sempron, Athlon 64/64 FX and Opteron, and some other manufacturer pages. Identification tool should now recognize most of the latest AMD processors. I tweaked it a little to catch a few common mistakes in part numbers for some families, like using "O" instead of "0".

Intel S-Spec pages were updated today. I added Pentium D/Extreme Edition S-Spec page, and added recently released Pentium 4 and Celeron D processors.

The site now has a script that handles accesses to non-existing web pages. The difference between this script and old static "Page Not Found" HTML page is that the script may redirect visitors to correct pages instead of displaying the error. The script also tracks all failed requests, so now it'd be much easier for me to find out missing pages, or "fix" invalid external links by redirecting accesses from non-existing to existing pages.

I added Motorola 68012 CPU family. 68012 microprocessor is essentially the same as 68010 with the exception of address bus width - 68012 has 31-bit address bus while the 68010 has 24-bit.

I experimented with creation of stereo images of chips, and posted stereo pictures in the forum. There are five images there that use cross-eye view method, and two animated GIF files.

New file upload feature was added to forums. Now registered users can upload pictures and post them in the forum. If you encounter any problems using this feature please post in this thread. I also changed how results are displayed by the site search. Before it would display more relevant results on the bottom of the page. I modified it to display more relevant results at the top of the search results list, and increased priority for pages that contain search string in the title.

I added Itanium CPU family. The whole family consists of 4 production processors - 733 and 800 MHz with 2 and 4 MB level 3 cache. Slower versions of Itanium processors also existed, but all of them were released only as engineering samples.

I added MC14500B Industrial Control Unit. It's a logical unit that works with 1-bit data bus and performs simple 1-bit tasks. The chip has only 16 instructions, so learning it's instruction set is a snap. Most of the instructions are logical operations, as well as load and store instructions. The logical unit also has a few branch/jump related instructions.

I updated 8086 CPU family with 7 new processors. Most of them are screened for industrial and military temperature ranges. If you noticed I recently added industrial/military chips for other families too. The reason is simple - some of my collections of commercial processors and co-processors are mostly complete, so now I'm trying to acquire more expensive industrial and military processors.
