Here's an early sample of the AMD FX "Bulldozer" CPU. It's a 2.4 GHz 8 core model for AM3+. It's an A1 stepping, and was made 10 months before the release of the chip. It's interesting because it uses completely different packaging from a typical AMD CPU. The pins are soldered to a paper thin tan circuit board which is glued to a metal plate, and the heat spreader is glued to the plate. Despite being an early stepping, its performance seems to be right in line with the released version (accounting for clock speed).

AMD K6-2 without markings:

I was sorting out my scrap CPUs, and found one chip with a think layer of thermal paste. After cleaning the paste I saw that it had two stickers on it, and no markings whatsoever. There is a handwriting on it, it says "350", so I guess it's a 350 MHz processor.

I wondered if that one was a SL2FJ. Nobody has seen one outside of a box still!
