imho - ES is sample to test device and to debug it before general mass production.

Is it possible 386SX has both ES and mil spec marking ? What can the soldiers test? Smile

probably a QS or CS
to my memory
the latest "CS" is possible 80286
and the earliest "QS" is pentium pro
my guess is from 386 to pentium , intel marked all sample (ES,QS etc ) as ES

has anyone noticed it has two rows of pins instead of normal 3 ?

EDIT >> that package was used for the 80376
should be fractionally smaller than a 386

I would say the MG80386SX-16 is the same size as the 376. I just took a look at my 376-16 and it looks the same.
