Hello all, this is my first post here. I found this site while trying to identify a chip I've had for more than 20 years.
It was taken from a board (it was socketed) that I found at a flea market together with more boards from the same machine. The brand logo looks like this: " ||/"
The chip is a white ceramic package with golden pins (64 pins). On the white ceramic there are these markings:
||/
91150052
MC-5

As I found this chip before knowing better, I removed the golden cap to see the die. And on the die I can see the markings "||/" and "MC-5".
One board from that machine is a very large RAM board, with about 200 ICs for a total of 2KB.

Does anyone know what I have here? What brand, what machine, and where I can find info about this CPU? I couldn't find anything online.

Thanks in advance,
Cristian

It's a Four Phase chip. Don't think it is from the CPU board, more likely the "MC" is memory controller...but I don't know much about these. There are other posts and Gil Carrick is the expert - see http://mit-a.com/
Also search on the forums for "Four Phase"

Thank you very much! The photos on the site you linked show exactly the same kind of board than the ones I have. Except that my RAM board is more massive, might be from another system.

I thought it was a CPU because it's big Smile and because the die doesn't look like a memory device, but you're right, it's not a CPU. I'll write Gil Carrick to see if he has more informations!

Thanks again,
Cristian

Hi,
Four Phase memory controller.
The company was a pioneer of FET LSI.
