Thank you yk I was hesitating between "Fy" or "Fr"
The early design of the logo on your chip (1973) is more like "Fr"
Could it be "Fairchild" ? I didn't see that logo on other Fairchild production. |

By searching information on another old calculator with a "Cal-Tex CT5002" processor I found this :
-It's a Cal-Tex processor made for the EIKO company in 1973
-The "Fr" logo is "Frontier INC"
More detail:
Asking "Cal-Tex CPU" I was lucky to find this thread :
http://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/hpmuseum/archv021.cgi?read=219855
I summerize : my Unitrex was made by EIKO,
During 1973 US company were selling processor to the Japanese and Cal-tex was making processor for EIKO
There was link to a japanese blog
http://calculatorlaboratory.blog119.fc2.com/blog-entry-49.html
we achieved a system to supply a large amount of LSI of low price is a factory professional production of LSI, which was established in the United States the company is wholly owned by the "Frontier · INC"
(translated with google)
I guess the "Fr" logo is for "Frontier INC"

than you I noted that link of semiconductor logos
http://www.classiccmp.org/rtellason/logos/semiconductorlogos.html
Regarding Cal-Tex processor, the Unitrex one is not so bad. The board is a real beauty, the housing design is very clever and no particular bug (except the negative zero).
The other calculator, caltronic 606, with an CT5002 of 1973, has its processor reseting randomly. I have seen on the web the same model with a MOSTEK MK5012C of 1972. Maybe they were cutting down the price with cheaper components. |

EDIT: What I write is wrong here. Read the next post of YK, I keep this to maintain the history
The FR1012 that YK has shown looks like my CT5002, they have the same pin number
the CT5002 is a clone of the mostek MK5012 if one compare the pin and the fact that they were used on the same calculator model.
http://www.rskey.org/~mwsebastian/calcwebpg/cal_tex.htm#ct5002
http://www.rskey.org/~mwsebastian/calcwebpg/mostek.htm#mk5012
It seems that cal-tex was playing with the number
So if FR1012 = CT5002 = MK5012 then maybe my FR1106 is a MOSTEK MK5106 clone

ct5002: pin1--Vss ,pin39 --Vdd
