we recover gold from electronic parts and also re smelt the gold recovered to refine it.
looking for scrap gold containing parts.
will also recover gold for customers on commission basis.
it take on average 80 scrap computers to recover one gram of pure gold. _________________ scott bowlan |

There is a thing that I don't understand in all this Gold Recovery thing.
With a Goldprice on 32 $ / gram
And you are going to split apard 80 Computers (How many days does that take) You are going to heat things up to over 1000 degrees Celcius ( How much does that cost )
Lookes to me that it is a buisnes with a very low earning. Not to mention what it does to the environment.

From scrap you can get not only gold but platine, silver , palladium, copper ... If you have professional machines than that is easy and quick. With home methods YES that is not much profitable and NOT HEALTHY. _________________ My actual collection full list :

The only way to do it economically (in the west) is to shred the stuff whole, do a bit of seperating of plastic (automatically, of course) and then melt the rest. Labour cost to strip them by hand makes it not worth it.
It seems in the USA people have been sold the promise of big bucks doing this in their back yard with a few pounds of PPros. |

All I know is I've been processing for quite a few years and I'll take any scrap you have. And most of you know I'll trade mil-spec stuff, for scrap stuff. It's worth it for me to trade one mil-spec cpu for 5 scratched up and bent ceramic cpus.
Johnny
By the way,the author of this post is brand new,but I've been here a little while and I've sold stuff to most of you,so if you're gonna do anything with your scrap please let me know first. Thanks guys _________________ Everything that is gold, doesn't always glitter. |

I wonder how long will the gold scrap last ?
As now new processors, chips and boards are ROHS compliant, contain on gold inside at all. most likely they will worth nothing. _________________ My vintage CPU collection: www.cpumuseum.com |

| Bowlan, send me your e- mail and address. No sarcasm here over scrapping as mining new metals is environmentally "impacted" the same, especially to the miners themselves. Note Harry Helm`s famous quote on Glenn Hauser`s World Of Radio (or a link) that he salvages Broadcasting eqt because copper mining is terribly hard occupation. I`ll take CPU or parts trades not money on my blowns although I usually don`t trade stuff in for scrapping until it`s blown. My e- mail here, ka2pyq@yahoo.com |
