congrats Genna, I was watching that... too bad that these auctions are us only often and if not then shipping cost is so high. Please post pictures of the hybrids when you got the lot. |

I received the lot with unfinished chips. There were a few interesting chips in the lot, their pictures will be posted this week in the "Latest finds (Modern chips)" thread.

It is a double nice one.. being a non A version & ES
took me a bit to find a datasheet, as the ones around were for 80C86A or late version M80C86 (military)
but there is a preliminary datasheet in the 1986 handbook (but nothing in 1988) _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

buy-it-now is 2000 USD and the seller accept an offer of 1500 USD
it must be a new record of desolders! |

The buyer is bors123 (786).
By the way, the same seller sold MCS6502 in March 2010 for $107.50

Actually he bought two white 6502's, both for $1500ea x 2 = $3000
Desoldered MOS 6502 White Ceramic

Socket Pull MOS 6502 White Ceramic - Side brazed
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250859706711
I believe the desoldered 6502 for $1500, WITH chips in the ceramic, was a rip off. He also claims that 5175 is an early date code. It obviously helps helps to put Apple 1 in the header!
According to a comment on this page: http://www.pagetable.com/?p=45
the ROR -bug was fixed in 1977, which makes most white 6502's (i have seen) inherent with this bug.
An ordinary socket pull 6502 white was sold for $234.50 on Dec. 7th 2011.
And I am sure most people remember that CPUShack's sold one recently for over $1000. The price increase seems to have gone exponential. Next year they will be at $10 000 minimum After that we will have a crash in the market and they will be back at $50 - $100 a piece again, not. |

Maybe the buyer is an Apple-fan with
huge filled purse who wanted some original spare
processors if that one in his Apple 1 fails lol
To use any other 6502 for $5 would be a mortal sin
and he would come into hell, a hell that is
occupied by evil undead windows-users _________________ Ordem e Progresso |

Hm, that Apple I that sold on Sothebys for £100000 or so had a poor black plastic CPU.
So he could have taken some $5 pieces as well;-) |
