Hm, that Apple I that sold on Sothebys for £100000 or so had a poor black plastic CPU.

So he could have taken some $5 pieces as well;-)

Who knows, maybe the original white one was replaced
to make some extra $$$ by selling it separately Wink

I just wonder how many Apple 1 fakes might be already around Shocked

http://www.macwelt.de/artikel/_News/374337/apple_i_bringt_bei_auktion_155000_euro/1

ok it was christies, lol
but at that price you don't need a 1000 extra:-)

http://www.tuaw.com/2010/11/11/apple-1-computer-going-on-auction-at-christies-in-london/
here you see the board, no ceramics, just plastic.

as the apple I was available as kit and complete maybe the plastic version is original.

That plastic Rockwell chip in the Cristie's lot was manufactured in 1981, and Apple 1 was discontinued in 1977.

Here's the lot:

If the winner had bid 2 seconds later.. his bid would not of been high enough
and the 2nd place bidder would of won at a lot lower price

No, all data is entered manually. I guess you're interested in a search string that I used. I'd prefer not reveal it.

I can understand that Wink

I have many searches set-up in ebay.com to help find little gems similar to this
But this was only listed for an hour & 20 minutes.. so it is also a matter of timing
Any important searches.. i do not set them to receive emails, but check results manually.. as by the time you get the email.. they are gone
