Fake ceramic Pentium SK124 ??

I bought a SK124 recently and I found it a bit weird on its print.

It seems the model area on the top side has been remarked?
and bottom side "SK124" print has different color compared with first two lines print above it.

Is this could be a fake?

SK124 is fake in my opinion. Looks like polished top with flash will looks much worse. There were many P100 fakes because of sense to do it = overclocking 75/90 MHz versions.

And yes making separated thread for every chip wasn't good decision

i emailed seller,he said :"I do not believe either to be fake, The SK124 probably had a sticker on the bottom side which when removed dulled some of the print."

According to my experience on chip collection , I don't think the sticker would affect the print.

Any opinion?

The die markings at this period where applied at different times..
so colouring differences between die code/plant code & part number/sSpec are very common

stickers on Pentiums don't general affect print colouring but the stickers on IBM/Cyrix do as they use a different adhesive

Depending on the production date, I have a list to check for fakes

Genuine Pentiums can vary... so up to 3 fails on checklist are likely to be still genuine
3 to 5 items.. it goes in my need more info pile
above 5.. the Pentium is a definite fake

The SK124 by looking at only the pictures.... gets a 0 (zero) score
