This came to mind about Billy's ebay bidding style Wink

this is 5 days before end of listing

this is 5 minutes before end of listing

this is 5 seconds before end of listing

I think they should let only you bid on a ES of your choosing.. you make enough money for them Smile

I see the newbies nibbling away at you on your current bidding Laughing

Yep.. big time lately

Most are just annoyance factor.. but some are pushing prices way beyond reasonable market value

Not only newbies are pushing prices. On eBay Germany we have one "oldbie" (with 2500+ feedback) who's bidding like CRAZY on all chips he doesn't have. I think you know him Smile - he is not a member of this forum.

Well, the ebay fee increases terribly. It is 7.9% final value fee on Australian ebay currently, which is much more expensive than before even they remove the insertion fee now. And Paypal "double charge" the fees.

I'm suspecting some newbies are seller's another account to push up the auction price.

Why I decided to sell my higher priced spares that I was thinking about selling.. decided it was better to sell over past few months, rather than wait for new fee structure to come in

Wonder how I would know him then Confused

Do eBay aussie also take a percentage of the shipping fees like they do in the USA?

Don't be surprised if Trademe starts up in Aussie

not as part of the fees for selling, but PayPal take their cut if that payment method is used

been a few non ebay auctions sites... most as there is no listing fees.. have 1000s of over priced items that never sell
running on crappy servers.. that take so long to load anything

One thing that did surprise me was who owned the Gumtree classified ad site in Australia... ebay

eBay could not get a foothold in New Zealand as trademe was too well established by the time they tried.
Trademe has recently had a public offering and is now a listed company so they will be looking for growth, probably in Aussie first I would say.

And Billy would Love the Trademe Type of Auction as they extended for 2 minutes each time a new bid is placed when there is 2 minutes until end.

Sometimes bidders will keep bidding for over half an hour after the listed close time which is great if your a seller with a much desired item.
