Don't forget that auction are a kind of game.
Sometime you win, sometime you lose, and shipping are not here to be sure to never loose...
If sellers don't want to loose, they can set an higher starting price...

And the problem, I must repeat, is not high shipping price, but unjustified high shipping price. This is a big difference !

Mixeur have identical point of view as mine. I don't say 0,55 cents shipping so seller must want 0,55 NO ! I understand envelope isn't free on post office Wink But all in border of reason. When I packing and sending (example to 1 kg) I charging 7 PLN (about 1,75 euro) getting 1 PLN ( about 25 cents) for materials. MAX charging for package (max 25 kg) is 2 PLN (0,50 euro). That haven't sense to charging for transport to post office if somebody have sensible legs so he can go to nearest post office. In my small city (100 000 people population) we have more than 20 points of post office. And last reason to charging from poor buyers : wasted time ... if somebody take money for wasting his time at packing so I prefer him to not sale at internet auctions.

I am not trying to say excessively overcharging shipping is right, as I too get mad with sellers who do this. I am just trying to say if you are going to bid on an item, make sure you are happy with the shipping terms as noted in the auction before you bid, else haggle the seller before it ends or forget about the auction. Simple as that. Smile

It's hard to tell how much more should be charged to cover packing materials and gas, etc. I agree it would be wise for the buyer to keep in mind the actual total when bidding. If the shipping is clearly stated in the description it should not be considered as dishonesty.
