My latest addition: a white Motorola 2901.
Funny that a few weeks after the first white Motorola chip that I've ever seen appears I happen to own an own:-)

here is an interesting TI TMS1000 in a very early high densisty skinny DIP

Do you know if there was any functional sense in those split pins?

Slots like that are often used for thermal/mechanical stress relief. Could be that they were used to lower the bending force required in setting up the pins, since the leadframe starts out completely flat.

perhaps, but the force to bend them is already very low.

Very very nice chip Genna. You were quick with that buy-it-now. Smile

I asked if he had another right after it sold, but he did not. Sad

Datecode = week 23, 2000. Not vintage and also not very rare - just too new to be in many collections Smile

Early 68000 may be considered vintage, but the 68SEC part numbers are a much more recent, lower power version of the 68000 core.

In fact, although this part number is no longer available new, the 16MHz part can be bought new from Freescale (although it is no longer in production). This chip ceased to be available for ordering on 30 Jun 2006 and for delivery on 30 Dec 2006.

This chip may be better posted in the "General Discussion (Modern chips)" area (I'm not disputing that it may be the only one known to be in a collection, as I have not checked that...)

hehe, I'm not sure if that was a typo or a joke Smile Nice finds.

What is the NEC chip? I know the D765 (Floppy Drive Controller), but not similar part numbers around it....

LOL, I certainly wouldn't complain if it had been me that found them Smile
