  80486 identification

To identify processor speed, package type, core voltage, cache size and other features use the table below to decode the Part Number printed on the CPU. Processor's core voltage can be also determined from the Voltage markings. 3.3V processors have "3 VOLT" markings on the top, while 5V processors don't have them. To determine when the processor was manufactured look at the Datecode. First two digits of the datecode is the year when the processor was manufactured. Remaining two digits of the datecode is the week number when the CPU was manufactured. For example, manufacture date of the processor on the picture is the 36th week of 1995.

  K5 (SSA) identification

To identify AMD K5 processor use the part number printed on the front of the CPU. Older K5 processors had part numbers starting from "AMD-SSA/5", to identify these processors please see the table further below. Newer K5 processors have part numbers starting from "AMD-K5", for their interpretation please see K5 section below.

Datecode can be used to determine manufacture date of the processor. First two digits of the datecode is the year when the processor was manufactured. Remaining two digits of the datecode is the week number when the CPU was manufactured. For example, manufacture date of the processor on the picture is the 20th week of 1996.
