Athlon II lineup refresh

Today AMD introduced six new Athlon II microprocessors. These include 45 Watt low power dual-, triple- and quad-core Athlon IIs, 65 Watt standard power Athlon II X2s, and 95 Watt standard power triple- and quad-core Athlon II CPUs. Specifications of new processors and their prices are provided in the table below:

All new microprocessors are just one step (100 MHz) faster than the previous top models, with the exception of triple-core 415e, which is 200 MHz faster than model 405e. The prices of new Athlon II processors are precisely the same as the prices of replaced top models before the launch. The prices of many previous top models were slashed:

Dual-core 240e - from $77 to $69
Dual-core 255 - from $76 to $69
Triple-core 440 - from $87 to $76
Quad-core 635 - from $122 to $99.99

There were no price changes for Athlon II X3 405e and Athlon II X4 605e microprocessors. Also, AMD dropped price on Phenom II X4 945 from $155 to $145.
