Intel microprocessors planned for this quarter

We discovered information about new Intel desktop and server microprocessors, planned for this quarter, in a leaked Intel document. Planned desktop models for the quarter are:

Core i5-680 and Pentium E5500 have already been launched. Remaining processors for the quarter are:

  • Core i7-875K quad-core CPU for socket 1156, with 2.93 GHz core frequency, 8 MB L3 cache, 3.6 GHZ maximum Turbo Boost frequency, HyperThreading technology and unlocked clock multiplier.
  • Core i5-655K dual-core microprocessor for socket 1156, with 3.2 GHz frequency, 3.46 GHz maximum Turbo Boost frequency, 4 MB L3 cache, HyperThreading and unlocked multiplier.
  • Core i3-550 dual-core CPU for socket 1156, with 3.2 GHz core frequency, 4 MB L3 cache, HyperThreading technology. The processor doesn't incorporate Turbo Boost feature.
  • Pentium E6700 dual-core processor for socket 775, with 3.2 GHz frequency, 1066 MHz FSB and 2 MB L2 cache.

Core i7-875K and Pentium E6700 CPUs are built on 0.045 micron technology, and Core i5 models utilize 0.032 micron technology. All Core processors are now in stock, but two models, Core i7-875K and Core i5-655K, will be shipped only at the beginning of June. Current prices for processors are $360+ for i7-875K, $227+ for i5-655K, and $150+ for i3-550. Pentium E6700 has also appeared in a few stores, and it is currently priced in $95 - $110 range. We believe that some or all of these processors will be introduced at Computex Taipei 2010 event, which starts on June 1st.

From server processors we can expect Xeon X3480 to be introduced later this quarter:

The X3480 quad-core microprocessor operates at 3.06 GHz, has 8 MB L3 cache, and features HyperThreading and Turbo Boost technologies. The processor is listed in a number of stores with prices ranging from $625 to $740.
