Intel is preparing Celeron E3500

New, faster version of dual-core Celeron microprocessor, Celeron E3500, will be available later this year. The E3500 processor with S-spec number SLGTY will run at 2.7 GHz, or less than 4% faster than current top Celeron model. Other CPU characteristics will be in line with other E3xxx models - 45 nm Wolfdale-3M core, 1 MB level 2 cache, Virtualization technology, and 775-land LGA package compatible with socket 775. Intel Celeron E3550 will use part numbers AT80571RG0681ML for OEM version, and BX80571E3500 for boxed version. Information on part numbers for this model was posted today by Intel. Processor's release date (later this year) is a speculation based on introduction frequency of Celeron CPUs, and the time when the last Celeron model was introduced.
