New Mobile CPUs introduced, part IIMobile Intel Core i7 microprocessors were not the only processors released yesterday. Today Intel posted specifications for three other models, that didn't make into the price list. These are Core i5-450M, Core i3-370M and Pentium P6000 CPUs, all based on 32nm Arrandale core. Dual-core Core i5-450M is clocked at 2.4 GHz, has 3 MB L3 cache, and features HyperThreading and Turbo Boost technologies. CPU frequency in Turbo Boost mode can be pushed as high as 2.66 GHz. As we already posted before, many notebooks with this CPU were available for sale long before the processor was formally added to Intel's website. More notebooks models with the i5-450M were announced in the last two days. Here is incomplete list of laptops that may include this microprocessor:
Like the i5-450M, Core i3-370M runs at 2.4 GHz, has 2 cores and 3 MB level 3 cache. With the help of integrated HyperThreading technology, the CPU can process 4 threads simultaneously. The processor does not contain Turbo Boost feature, therefore this model may have up to 10% lower performance than the Core i5-450M. Recently announced laptops with this model are Dell Studio 14 and Vostro 3500, HP Pavilion dv6t-series, and HP ProBook 6550b. Pentium P6000 budget CPU operates at 1.86 GHz and has the same size of L3 cache as Core i3/i5 CPUs, 3 MB. This dual-core processor comes with basic features only - support for 64-bit instructions, NX-bit and Enhanced SpeedStep technology. Surprisingly, Virtualization technology is disabled on this model, although it's enabled on more budget-oriented Celeron P4500 and U3400. The processor will be shipped in Dell Studio 14R, 15R, and 17R laptops, HP Pavilion dv5t series, Acer Aspire 7741, and other notebooks. Related News (newer articles):
