Intel to discontinue Core i7-975 in 2011

Intel posted three product change notifications on its website, notifying customers of planned discontinuance in 2011 of three desktop microprocessors: Core i7-975 Extreme Edition, Pentium Dual-Core E5300 and Celeron Dual-Core E3200. The last order data for boxed and OEM processors was set to February 2011, and the last shipment for OEM processors is August 2011. Boxed processors will be shipped while supplies last. Tray Pentium E5300 CPU will be discontinued only for consumer market. After August of the next year Intel will offer the E5300 as an embedded part.
