Intel unveils Core i3-560, Pentium E6800 and Celeron E3500
Today Intel updated price list with 3 new budget and mid-performance desktop models - Core i3-560, Pentium E6800 and Celeron E3500. Intel also added to the price list Pentium E5700, Atom N550 and Xeon W3670 microprocessors that were released earlier this month. In addition to this, price of Core i7-950 microprocessor was slashed by 48%, from $562 to $294, and the price of Xeon W3550 was reduced from $387 to $294.
Built on 32nm Westmere microarchitecture, Core i3-560 incorporates two cores with HyperThreading technology, memory controller with DDR3-1333 MHz memory support, and graphics controller operating at 733 MHz. With 3.33 GHz core frequency, the i3-560 is 133 MHz faster than current top Core i3 model with processor number i3-550. Other CPU features of the i3-560 are 4 MB L3 cache, 73 Watt TDP, and 1156-land LGA package, which fits socket 1156 motherboards. Official Intel price for this processor is $138. Support for this model was already added to ASRock, ASUS, Biostar and MSI motherboards.
Dual-core Celeron E3500 and Pentium E6800 CPUs are socket 775 microprocessors built on older 45nm Core micro-architecture. The Celeron E3500 runs at 2.7 GHz, uses 800 MHz Front Side Bus frequency, and has 1 MB level 2 cache. The Pentium E6800 has 3.33 GHz core frequency, 1066 MHz FSB and 2 MB L2 cache. The E3500 and E6800 processors are priced at $52 and $86 respectively. Celeron E3500 and Pentium E6800 can be already pre-ordered in some online stores. Support for the microprocessors was added to MSI and ASUS (Pentium E6800 only) motherboards.
