Toshiba announced Satellite Pro notebook with AMD Athlon II P360 CPUToshiba recently announced two notebooks from new Satellite Pro C660D series. Toshiba C660D-10C laptop, currently shipped in Europe, comes with Athlon II Dual-Core Mobile P340 CPU, operating at 2.2 GHz core frequency. The second laptop, Satellite Pro C660D-12M, is not yet available, and it will include upcoming AMD Athlon II P360 microprocessor, clocked 100 MHz higher than the P340. Besides the 2.3 GHz core frequency, the P360 will not be different than the P340 model. Standard features on these "P"-series Athlon IIs are two cores with 512 KB L2 cache per each core, and integrated DDR3 memory controller. The processor should have the same crippled features as other Athlon II microprocessors: 1.6 GHz HyperTransport link, and 64-bit wide Floating Point Unit. Like slower P320 and P340 processors, the P360 fits 25 Watt thermal envelope, and is produced in socket S1-compatible micro-PGA package. A few words about the Toshiba Satellite Pro C660D-12M. The notebook has 15.6" widescreen display with 1,366 x 768 resolution, powered by ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics. The notebook will come with 250 GB hard disk drive, DVD Super Multi drive, and 3 GB of DDR3-1066 RAM, which can be expanded to 8 GB. The C660D-12M integrates 802.11b/g/n wireless adapter, 10/100 Mb LAN adapter, Multi-Card reader, bult-in stereo speakers, and VGA web camera with microphone. The laptop weights 5.07 lbs (2.3 kg), and has expected battery life on one charge slightly over 4 hours.
