New AMD Phenom II processors - bits and pieces
Two weeks ago, we published a story about AMD Phenom II X6 1100T model appearing on pre-order lists of online stores. Since then we discovered a few other interesting tidbits about forthcoming Phenom II CPUs, including Phenom II information on AMD website, Phenom II 565 model pre-order, and CPU support updates for new Phenom IIs.
AMD plans to release 4 Phenom II microprocessors - dual-core 565 BE, quad-core 975 BE, and six-core 1065T and 1100T BE. Three out of four models were included in public AMD roadmap for Phenom II CPUs, published earlier last month:
The roadmap shows three Phenom II microprocessors under 1st quarter 2011, but, like it already happened in the past, the processors may be launched at the end of the previous quarter (Q4 2010). The listed models, 565, 975 and 1100T, will be released with unlocked clock multiplier. The forth CPU, X6 1065T, is not listed on the roadmap, and it is possible that, similar to other 95 Watt AMD hexa-core microprocessors, this CPU will be available only in OEM systems.
We already mentioned that the 1100T is available for pre-order in a number of US-based online stores. Like the X6 1100T, Phenom II X2 565 is also available for pre-order. Prices for this model range from $120 to $145. Provantage.com has the cheapest pre-order price, $119.96.
Three out of 4 upcoming models, Phenom II 565, 1065T and 1100T BE, recently emerged on Chinese version of AMD website. Information on all three processors matches preliminary specifications, as well as specifications of 1065T and 1100T CPUs posted in CPU support area on Biostar website. For some reason, Phenom II 975 is not shown on the AMD website. Also, this model is not available for pre-order yet.
Brief specifications of 4 new CPUs are provided at the table below:
