AMD introduces new mobile microprocessors

In the past months we posted a series of articles dedicated to upcoming refresh of mainstream and ultrathin 2010 mobile platforms. If you followed the stories then you may know that a number of not yet released processors was spotted in specifications of Acer, Dell, HP and Lenovo notebooks, and some of these notebooks already materialized in retail stores. Today, AMD added new mobile models to 2010 AMD Mainstream Platform and 2010 AMD Ultrathin Platform pages, and updated AMD product pages as well. Below is a list of processors added to AMD product pages:

All newly launched processors are incremental upgrades to Turion II and Phenom II mobile line-ups, and they are clocked one step, or 100 MHz faster, than former top models from these families. We previously published specifications for all of these CPUs, except for Phenom II X940. The quad-core X940 microprocessor is clocked at 2.4 GHz, and it can be overclocked to achieve even better performance. Main disadvantages of this model is higher 45 Watt power consumption, and the fact that, even when overclocked, it may still be slower than dual-core Phenom II mobile CPUs is single- and dual-threaded applications.
