Intel Xeon E7-8800 specificationsOn Monday, we published more details on upcoming Xeon E7 family, and revealed processor numbers from forthcoming E7-8800 series. At the time, we didn't have specifications of these processors, but we were able to find them today. On top of that, we discovered more details on Xeon E7-2800 and E7-4800 products: E7-8800 series processors have 8 or 10 CPU cores, clocked from 2 GHz to 2.67 GHz. The Xeons come with huge 24 MB or 30 MB L3 cache, shared by all cores, four 3.2 GHz QPI links, and two memory controllers with DDR3-1066 memory support. With the exception of frequency optimized E7-8837 model, all E7-8800 CPUs support HyperThreading. Turbo Boost technology is provided on all E7-8800 models, and the CPUs are expected to include all features of enhanced Nehalem microarchitecture. The processors will be produced in Socket LS compatible package. As can be seen from the slide above, all CPUs from Xeon E7-2800 and E7-4800-series incorporate HyperThreading technology. Two entry-level models, hexa-core E7-2803 and E7-4807, have 2.4 GHz QPI link and 800 MHz effective memory data rate, and do not support Turbo Boost technology. Two other CPUs, Intel E7-2820 and E7-4820, have QPI links clocked at 2.93 GHz, and run memory at 978 MHz. Remaining microprocessors feature 3.2 GHz QPI links, and can temporarily boost clock frequency by up to 266 MHz for 2830 and 4830 models, or up to 400 MHz for 50/60/70 models. The table below summarizes major characteristics of Xeon E7-8800 microprocessors:
