AMD drops prices on full line of desktop CPUs

As you may already know, today AMD launched Phenom II X4 980 flagship model, as well as a few desktop processors from Athlon II and Phenom II families. At the same time, AMD dropped prices on existing desktop CPUs. As a matter of fact, every Athlon II and Phenom II desktop model was reduced in price on average by 11.6%. While in absolute terms this resulted only in minor price cuts for budget Athlon IIs, about $8 or less, price reductions for Phenom IIs were more significant - $20 or more in some cases. The biggest price drops today were $65, or 39.4%, for Phenom II X4 905e, and $25, or 25.8%, for Athlon II X3 405e. The price changes for two microprocessors, Athlon II X2 260 and Athlon II X4 640, were about $2, or pretty much negligible.
