Intel introduces mobile CPUs: part IIYesterday, Intel posted new pricelist with four new ultra-low voltage
consumer processors from Celeron, Core i3 and Core i5 families. We
used this update as a base for yesterday's story, where we reported
that more parts may surface in an official announcement, or in the
Intel ARK product database. Today, several processors were added to
the ARK database, including two new models that we hadn't covered
before. The products, added to the database, are embedded Celeron 847E
and B810E, consumer-class Celeron B800, Pentium B940 and B950, as well
as 4 CPUs, previously found in the pricelist - Celeron 847, Core
i5-2557M, Core i7-2637M and i7-2677M. Two new SKUs are Pentium 957 and
Core i5-2467M, both are ultra low voltage BGA microprocessors with 17 Watt
Thermal Design Power, produced in a BGA package.
Pentium 957 is a dual-core model without Hyper-Threading, Turbo Boost, or any other advanced features. According to Intel product database, the CPU supports VT-x virtualization, which is a step forward compared to Westmere P6x00 chips. The Intel 957 operates at 1.2 GHz, and, like all mobile Pentiums, packs 2 MB L3 cache and HD graphics on a chip. The GPU on this processor has 350 MHz stock frequency, and can be boosted up to 800 MHz. Core i5-2467M also has two cores, however it can execute 4 threads at once with the help of integrated HyperThreading feature. The processor also incorporates Turbo Boost technology, which can bump stock 1.6 GHz core frequency up to 2.3 GHz. The Intel i5-2467M features larger, than on the Pentium chip, 3 MB L3 cache, and more capable HD GPU, that supports Wireless Display, Quick Sync Video, InTru 3D and a few other technologies. Although the GPU has the same 350 MHz stock frequency, as on the Pentium 957, its 1.15 GHz turbo frequency is substantially higher. The i5-2467M will be shipped in Samsung NP900X3A-B01US Series 9 notebook. So far, we confirmed the launch of 11 mobile Intel microprocessors. Nevertheless, the update of the product database could be incomplete, therefore we may see more parts introduced this week. As a reminder, Core i3-2330E and i3-2340UE embedded CPUs were supposed to launch this week, and one or more of the following models could be released as well: Celeron B710, Core i3-2330M, i3-2350M and Core i5-2430M. Update (June 21): 4 additional microprocessors were added to the ARK database. These include two Core i3 embedded chips, i3-2330E and ULV i3-2340UE, mainstream Core i3-2330M CPU in micro-FCBGA and micro-FCPGA packages, and new ultra low voltage model, Core i3-2357M. The last one is a dual-core processor with 1.3 GHz clock rate and 17 Watt TDP. The i3-2357M is fabricated in BGA package, and it employs all standard Core i3 features and technologies: 3 MB L3 cache, SSE4 and AVX instructions, and Hyper-Threading. Update (June 27): In total, there were 15 mobile and embedded microprocessors released. Brief specifications of these SKUs are provided in the table below:
