New AMD Bobcat APUs in Q1/Q2 2012

Recently leaked mobile AMD roadmap indicated that in the first quarter 2012 the company may introduce new Bobcat processors for "Brazos 2.0" platform, that targets "HD internet", "Value" and "Essential" market segments. Based on the same roadmap, in the second quarter 2012 AMD will launch "Brazos-T" power-optimized platform. Yesterday, ComputerBase.de revealed three APUs for both platforms, including soon to be launched E-Series E1-1200 and E2-1800 "Zacate" APUs for netbooks, as well as upcoming Z-Series CPU with model number Z-03.

AMD E1-1200 and E2-1800 Accelerated Processing Units are positioned as successors of E-300 and E-450 models, that were introduced two months ago. E-Series E1-1200 operates at 1.4 GHz, or 100 MHz faster than E-300. The CPU boasts HD 7310 graphics with 80 shader units, clocked at 500 MHz. Like the E-300, the E1-1200 has 1 MB L2 cache, 18 Watt Thermal Design Power, and it supports standard- and low-power DDR3 memory with data rates up to 1066 MHz. Second microprocessor, E2-1800, features 1.7 GHz core frequency, and Radeon HD 7340 unit with 80 shaders. The Radeon GPU on this chip runs at 523 MHz, but can be boosted up to 680 MHz. The E2-1800 supports DDR3-1333, while the remaining CPU features are similar to E1-1200. Production ready samples of both APUs will be available in December 2011, and the chips should be in production in February 2012. Exact launch date of E1-1200 and E2-1800 processors is not known.

AMD Z-03 is a dual-core microprocessor with 1 GHz clock speed and 1 MB L2 cache. The CPU integrates Radeon HD 6250 graphics unit, that has 80 shaders and works at 276 MHz. These specifications are identical to Z-01 APU, however the Z-03 has about 25% lower TDP. Engineering samples of this part will be available in November of this year, and the Z-03 should be in production in April 2012.

Update (October 10, 2012): Z-03 processor was re-branded as Z-60, and released on October 9, 2012.

I'm wondering what prices the laptops are gonna be once the new chipsets come out, Hopefully E2-1800 will be same price as E-450 is right now, otherwise I'll resort to buying something else lol...
