Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU is available for pre-orderFirst microprocessors, built on "Ivy Bridge" microarchitecture, will be launched in about three months. The initial lineup will be comprised of desktop products from Core i5 and Core i7 families, mobile Core i7 processors, and, as was disclosed by VR-Zone earlier last month, there will be three OEM-only mobile chips, Core i7-3610QM, i7-3612QM and i7-3615QM. One of these chips, Core i7-3610QM, is now available for pre-order as a standalone CPU, and in Samsung NP700G7C-S01US notebook. OEM i7-3610QM is a quad-core part with Hyper-threading support, and large 6 MB L3 cache. Provantage online store lists this CPU at $375, which is very close to $378 official price of Core i7-3720QM model. It's important to note that pre-order prices on Provantage website are tend to go down a bit once the processors are launched. Feature-wise, the 3610QM will run at slower 2.3 GHz clock speeds, than 2.6 GHz i7-3720QM, and will have 300 MHz lower maximum Turbo Boost frequency. Core i7-3610QM will support most of Ivy Bridge extensions and technologies, except Vpro. The CPU will fit into 45 Watt thermal envelope, and work in socket G2 "Chief River" motherboards.
