Prices of AMD FX-4170 and FX-6200 processorsLess than two weeks ago AMD added FX-4170 and FX-6200 unlocked microprocessors to FX-Series line-up without releasing their pricing. FX chips had significantly higher (about 15%) stock clock speeds compared to older FX-4170 and FX-6100 models, therefore the new processors expected to be more expensive. Earlier this week AMD added FX-Series 4170 and 6200 CPUs to official price list, confirming those expectations. AMD FX-4170 is a quad-core model with 4 CPU cores, 4.2 GHz stock and 4.3 GHz Turbo Core frequencies. FX-6200 packs 6 cores, although those are clocked lower, "only" at 3.8 GHz, and up to 4.1 GHz when Turbo Core is active. The CPUs have 125 Watt TDP. Official prices of these microprocessors are $135 for FX-4170, and $165 for FX-6200. Recently both models appeared in stock in some US stores. AMD FX 4170 is currently available for $139.99 from NewEgg, and FX 6200 can be purchased from a number of retail stores, including Amazon, Provantage, and NewEgg. Related News (newer articles):
