Radeon HD 7990 Specs DetailedWith NVidia's Kepler GK104 GPU just around the corner, in the shape of the GTX 680 graphics cards, it's little wonder that we are now also hearing news of AMD's dual-GPU Radeon HD 7990. Chinese website inpai.com have reported what they claim are the specs for AMD's ultra high end GCN graphics card. According to the report, the Radeon HD 7990 will have two Tahiti XT (Radeon HD 7970) GPU cores, each having 2048 GCN cores, running at 850 MHz. Each GPU will have 128 texture units and 32 raster units. There will be 3 GB 384-bit GDDR5 memory per GPU (6 GB per card) running at 1250 MHz (5000 MHz effective). We don't yet know the release date or pricing for this card, but it will be some time after the release of GK 104. The price of the Radeon HD 7970 is stable, with no sign of dropping, so we can expect the new cards to be pretty expensive, outside the realms of what most users can afford.
