Low-power Intel Pentium G640T and G860T planned for Q2Last week we reported on three budget microprocessors spotted in socket 1155 CPU support list on ASRock website. Newly discovered Celeron G540T, G550 and Pentium G640 had slightly higher clock speeds compared to existing Celeron and Pentium models. We recently learned about two other budget Pentium G640T and G860T chips, that will be coming out in the second quarter 2012. One of these processors, G640T, also appeared in ASRock CPU support list. Intel G640T ad 860T are low-power socket 1155 models with 35 Watt TDP, built on Sandy Bridge micro-architecture. The parts have 2 CPU cores, each one coupled with 256 KB L2 cache, and both cores sharing 3 MB L3 cache. The Pentium will come with basic Sandy Bridge features, such as Intel 64 and SSE4, and will not support Hyper-Threading, Virtualization or AVX. The G640T will operate at 2.4 GHz, whereas the 860T will be clocked at 2.6 GHz. The Pentiums will be available in the second quarter, together with G870, G640, G550 and G540T SKUs. Below is a summary of their features:
