Intel discontinues Xeon and Atom processors

Intel today announced discontinuation of large number of Atom and Xeon microprocessors. By the end of this year, the company is going to retire 45nm Atom CPUs with "Pineview" core. Furthermore, Intel will discontinue Xeon 3400-series chips for single-socket workstations, and Xeon MPs from 6500 and 7500 series. Most of End-of-Lifed microprocessors were introduced in the second half of 2009 and the first half of 2010. The last order date for these processors is December 28 2012. Atom CPUs will be shipped until Jun 7, 2013. The last shipment date for Xeon 3400-series is December 6, 2013, and Xeon 6500 / 7500 parts will ship until June 5, 2015. Full list of discontinued models is provided below:

Atom: D410, D510, D425, D525, N450, N455, N470, N475, N550 and N570

Xeon 3400-series: L3426, X3440, X3430, X3450, X3460, X3470 and X3480

Xeon 6500-series: E6510, E6540 and X6550

Xeon 7500-series: E7520, E7530, E7540, L7545, L7555, X7542, X7550 and X7560

Atom D410, D510, D425, D525, N450 and N455, and Xeon X3430 and X3450 will still be available as embedded products after the last shipment date.
