AMD FX-6120 CPU is available in HP computersWhile Intel have been busy refreshing all desktop market segments in the first half of this year, we haven't seen many new AMD desktop FX and A-Series processors. In fact, AMD introduced only 5 desktop SKUs, including three Athlon II CPUs, in the first two quarters. That doesn't seem much considering that Intel launched 26 new processors at the same time frame, or that AMD introduced 18 desktop chips in Q1 and Q2 2010. Hopefully, we will see more activity from AMD later this year, and maybe we'll finally see some of those "Bulldozer" FX CPUs, that were supposed to be released months ago. One of these processors, FX-6120, not only appeared in specifications of several HP computers, but it can be ordered now (click on the "Customize" button) in HP Pavilion HPE h8-1300z desktop computer:
The order customization page of the h8-1300z PC claims that the FX-6120 operates at 3.6 GHz. Specifications pages for other desktop computers on the HP website, like this one, indicate 3.5 GHz clock speed. The specs on the HP website also speak of six CPU cores, 6 MB L2 and 8 MB L3 caches, 5.2 GT/s HyperTransport speed and 95 Watt TDP. A slide, leaked in February, stated 4.1 GHz Turbo core frequency for this FX model, although we couldn't find anything on HP website that confirms this. HP Pavilion h8-1300Z with the AMD FX-6120 is priced at $699.99 with $100 instant rebate, which drops the price to $599.99. For that money you will get 6 GB of DDR3-1600 memory, AMD HD 7450 graphics card with 1GB memory, 1 TB hard drive, DVD Burner, and WiFi LAN card. The computer comes with 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, and add-on software, such as Adobe Premier elements, Photoshop 10, and Microsoft Office Starter. Related News (older articles):

Is this good?
Is this a good or bad thing? I've heard some reviews that say AMD is bad for gaming. I don't intend on doing any intense gaming like Crysis 2, but I do intend on playing Minecraft, ArmA 2, GTA: San Andreas, and possibly G-Mod. I was planning on getting the build you exactly provided with a possible upgrade to the 8-core 8120 with MS Office H&S included (full version). Should I go with the 8120 or should I be good enough on settling on the 6120?
Any response would be fully appreciated. Please email your answer to weston96@kc.rr.com
I also play those games. Though i downloaded Saints Row The Third, it will not run because of the 6 processors
