Since the introduction and FX series of high performance processors in October of last year, AMD released 9 different quad-, hexa- and octo-core FX models, three of which were exclusively shipped in OEM computers. During that time, another 7 SKUs were spotted in leaked AMD documents and in CPU support lists for socket AM3 motherboards. The SKUs are 4120, 4130, 4150 and 4200 from FX-4000 series, 8140 and 8170 from FX-8000 series, and FX-6130. These processors were expected to launch in the 1st and 2nd quarters of this year, but that never happened. One of these models, FX-4130, is now available for pre-order in ShopBLT online store, which is a sign that the microprocessor may be released in the near future.
The ShopBLT store lists the following specifications for the FX-4130: quad-core (QC), 3.8 GHz clock speed, 8 MB cache, 125 Watt Thermal Design Power, and compatibility with socket AM3+. In the past, this processor was reported to have 4 MB of L3 cache, therefore the 8 MB number possibly includes both L2 and L3 caches. From a roadmap, leaked by DonanimHaber, we also know that the FX-4130 supports Turbo Core frequency, and can boost CPU clock up to 3.9 GHz. Like all FX microprocessors, the 4130 should have unlocked clock multiplier. Pre-order price for boxed FX-4130 processor is $120.42. This is identical to current price of boxed FX-4100 CPU in the same online store, which suggests that both models may have the same official price.
