Pre-order prices of Opteron 4300 series CPUs

Earlier this month AMD announced Piledriver-based Opteron 6300 series products for quad-processor servers. The launch press release stated that in December the company will also introduce server CPUs for dual-processor systems. These parts, branded as Opteron 4300, will have up to 8 CPU cores, and clock rates as high as 3.4 GHz. Official prices of these chips are not known yet, however the processors are already available for pre-order from several US online stores:

Opteron 4300 series will be comprised of 5 SKUs. Three of them, Opteron 4332 HE, 4334 and 4340, will have 6 cores, and stock frequencies ranging from 3 GHz to 3.4 GHz. AMD 4376 HE and 4386 will have 8 CPU cores, although they will be clocked lower, at 2.6 GHz and 3.1 GHz. Energy-efficient "HE" parts will fit into 65 Watt thermal envelope, whereas remaining three Opterons will come with 95 Watt TDP. All five SKUs should offer better performance than counterparts from Opteron 4200 series, owing to tweaked microarchitecture and new instructions. Opteron 4332 HE and 4386 will also offer 100 MHz higher base clock speed.

Pre-order prices of Opteron 4300 SKUs are close to pre-order prices of 4200 series processors, and differ from them by less than 10%:

The "HE" processors will be the most expensive from the 4300 series, priced at $441 for six-core and $532 for eight-core SKU. The prices for 95 Watt microprocessors currently range from $200 to $360. Please note that the pre-order prices may come down a bit once the Opteron 4300 processors are released.
