AMD to offer FX-9370 and FX-9590 CPUs with a liquid cooling kit

Back in June AMD launched two high-performance 8-core FX Series chips, running at exceptionally high 4.4 and 4.7 GHz clock speeds. The processors were essentially top binned FX-83xx parts, overclocked to 4+ GHz, and overvolted to achieve higher frequencies. Overclocking/overvolting resulted in significantly increased power consumption, which led to AMD's recommendation to use liquid cooling kit with the CPUs. The first FX-9000 series processors were shipped in OEM PCs, and came with a liquid cooling, but the kit was not included in boxed FD9370FHHKWOF and FD9590FHHKWOF models. As a result, computers enthusiasts had to purchase third-party liquid cooling solutions to complement their expensive FX microprocessors. This may change soon, as AMD plans to sell FX-9000 series CPUs with a liquid kit included. Some US online stores, such as, already have new boxed FX CPUs available for pre-order:

Boxed processors with a kit will have different SKU numbers, ending with "WOX". Depending on a store, the FX-9370 with a part number FD9370FHHKWOX is currently available for pre-order for $385 - $400, which is $50 - $60 more expensive than the FD9370FHHKWOF, that does not include a thermal solution. The FX-9590 with FD9590FHHKWOX box part number can be pre-ordered for $935 - $970, or $60 - $70 more than the FD9590FHHKWOF. It is important to note that we compared prices of "WOF" and "WOX" FX microprocessors from the same store. Bigger stores, like Amazon, currently do not list the FX-9000 series "WOX" processors, however their prices of original FX-9590 boxes with just a CPU recently dropped, and currently start at about $750. There are reports that the FX-9590 is even cheaper in Europe, and it is available in some shops for as low as 440 Euro (about $595 USD).
