Pentium III-S/III-M
I have been trying to resolve this issue. From what I can tell, the Tualatin cores with 512K S.A. L2 cache are Pentium III-S. All other Tualatin cores (CPUID 6B?h) are Pentium III-M. These processors are defined as Pentium III in the Intel CPUID reference (241618.pdf), however they are found in the Celeron update reference (243748.pdf). The "-S" indicates Intel was targeting servers. The "-M" indicates Intel was targeting mobile/portable applications. The -S variations may very well be found in portable applications (i.e. notebooks/laptops), as they provided low power consumption.
