Thank you for this list. I'll be using the Asrock P4I945GC for mine, but it'll be helpful to know what other boards are good.

The non working boards, did they not start at all? Or only not the 64-bit OS?

Strange how the P4P800 vanilla doesn't work, it should be nearly identical to the P4P800SE aside from a worse VRM.

All except for the original P4P800 didn't POST at all, the P4P800 was throwing bizarre errors on the BIOS and was unable to start a 64 bit OS (Windows XP x64)

P4P800 SE isn't based on the P4P800, but rather on the later P4P800-E design, it also has a newer BIOS than the regular P4P800

Must be a bios thing.
Did you try non-booting boards with regular E0 prescotts?

But why can I run a SE BIOS on my vanilla P4P800 then?

Yeah, they boot with a SL7PN without issues and have prescott compatible bios

Forgot to reply that one, but i never tried since i wasn't sure if there would be issues, especially with a different LAN chip (P4P800 uses 3com 3c940, P4P800 SE uses Marvell 88E8001)

If the Asrock P4I65G works, would it be safe to assume the P4I65GV will as well? I'll probably test it at some point, but like to know if there is any point Smile

Today I'm just experimenting with G31-M4 LOL
Validation there http://valid.x86.fr/uz9ru6

I need to somehow remove the limitation on the visibility of all 8 GB of RAM. The G31 chipset itself supports 8GB of RAM.

Would be fun to make it work with DDR3 using a Socket 478 -> 775 converter...
Or RDRAM if somehow a Socket 423 motherboard supports 64 bits Prescotts, maybe with Bios Mods...
