hi Guy's

first time around here and i have this little question.....i wanna upgrade my Laptop CPU for a Double-Core i have done research and homework on this future project is just that i wanna make sure exactly which processor will be the best for my laptop to be upgraded...is motherboard socket S1 (638) and which processor to you guys think will be the best option for this upgrade project...

any help will be appreciated

I dont know but upgrade a laptop with a new cpu might need a professional stuff. unless you know how to open it and mount the cpu by yourself.

Could you provide the model of your laptop, and other basic informations?

The top cpu of a socket can't always be installed because of different heat dissipated, all depends on what you have.

Maybe try to find on google if anyone did it before. Call the assistance and see what they suggest for upgrades.

You should be able to upgrade to TL-XX line of Turion processors. People reported successes with TL-50, TL-52, and even with TL-60. Be warned that TL-xx processors have higher power dissipation, and your laptop will run hotter, and less time on the same battery charge. You may want to watch this video before upgrading:

gshv : i was looking that video the other day and seems like no to hard to do, i have some experience open up laptops and building up Tower but always is good to ask specially in this laptop that is build in a way that ones is assemble is kind of headache to dissemble and yeah im going for TL-60
