I'm sure that posting on the forums won't do any harm -

As we have been discussing the value of certain chips recently, I thought it may be worth having a look, and discussing this particular lot for sale:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8797098803&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Only chip that caught my eye really was the C8008, and it's worth noting it is all Intel only.

If this collection is worth $2,500 - $4,500 , then mine is certainly worth between $10-15,000.

Some people get confused about the difference between market price and insurance valuations Smile

top end of the price scale there. You have to take into the account the time it would take you to individually gather ( think of all the P&P! ) all those chips as well.

And he does say they are very very clean chips, museum grade.

I'm not too hesitant in saying the price is fair - If that is what he wants for it, fair enough.

I believe he has already been offered $2000

Well whoever offered $2000 is definitely not going to want it now since this thread was made, as it degraded his auction to all potential bidders. Smile

It's worth whatever someone wants to pay for it. Would you be angry if a D8080A jumps to $50 each? Because the sole purpose it would jump to that price is because that same person who could have bought that collection for $5000 felt it was necessary to pay $50.

I would still personally give the guy $2000 for it, but since his starting price is well over that I will not even offer.
