The owner of it told me that this cpu need not heatsink or fan. this is to say he always use it without any attachment, and works good.

The top picture clearly shows that there are three pieces of silicon in there, vs 2 in 256K and 512K versions.

there was a heatsink on it, if there wasnt, the holes in the top would not be filled with white thermal compound

yeah I thought that too.. but I think its a white silicon.

How did you figure it out?
I asked the owner again, he said he may be mistaken and there might be a fan. But the top surface is very smoothing, so there is little posibility that there had words on it before.
