I would send to

Hanoi-Snack
z.H. Dang Quy Vinh
Matternstr. 9
10249 Berlin
GERMANY

but my mail doesn't seem to arrive (see my last sale topic). Did you receive your chips yet, BTW?

It's great to have a forum with people responding faster than anybody else.

Or "D-10249 Berlin." I always include the country prefix whenever possible. (D = Deutschland)

Btw, when mailing to the UK, the US postal service prefers England, etc. rather than United Kingdom.

United Kingdom is technically United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The shorter version is much easier and sounds less like a banana republic. Smile

I dont know why the USPS would prefer England over United Kingdom, as our postal code system covers all four countries. Do they also prefer Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland instead of the United Kingdom? Again technically it is all interchangeable.

Isnt there some international postal system online that gives details?

In my opinion dropping the United Kingdom in favour of the England or Wales etc, is almost like dropping USA and using a state name instead.

No, that's official USPS policy. They definitely don't allow the use of "United Kingdom" on customs forms.

So yes - England, Scotland, Wales, etc. (or Great Britain) should always be used in place of United Kingdom.

In fact, this is what pops up when I try to print postage to England through Endicia (www.endicia.com) using United Kingdom instead:

The reason for this is certainly their overseas territories (islands in every of the 3 oceans), UK could go anywhere on the globe, isn't it, Debs?

never had a problem sending to UK, and I ship several packages there a week.

and if I print postage from USPS it makes the label
JACK BLACK
12 BERLIN ST
LONDON
UNITED KINGDOM

So I dont think it matters much

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
