If so it isn't very interesting for me, the costs for a one day event rise too high. I'd go to London instead for a week.
Can't we do something in London, a pre-Kiev event? |
One day at Demotronic and rest of week on Cebit ! It couldn't be better _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

With the value of the dollar as mentioned by CpuShack all you guys would be best off coming here, as far as value to dollar ratio goes, and we have some very nice nuclear facilities as well, Does anyone remember 3 Mile Island. We can catch some great three headed fish, cook them up and all glow together
Plus i know i would bring a keg or two of beer along

i know this is a old topic, but what happened to the idea of a cpu-collector meeting?
i also know it is not possible for all collectors of the world, but i think
a collector meeting for european collectors should be possible! _________________ INTEL CPU´s, Peripheral,Ram,Eprom... & many Datasheets @ www.cpu-galaxy.at |

I think it would be up to us toorganise such a day with Demotronic. I think it would be a great idea to try and get one early next year (that gives me time to get a passport). _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I agree. The dollar vs. euro's or pounds is too weak at this point. Maybe have the second meeting/party here in the US and alternate each year?
(vote for Chicago).
The economy here needs to get better for me to consider long distance travel. But this is a great idea that is overdue.
Iguana, what time of year were you thinking of for this conference? _________________ My collection list (growing) http://johnorun.x86-guide.com/en/collection.html |

Would it be a meet-up for just chat and beers, or with an 'activity'. What if I could organise to have an open day with a recycler in the UK, for example, then off to the computer history museum at Bletchley park - how many people would come?
Then, as suggested there is Freidrichshafen. |

I would be up for any group activity that is affordable - and Bletchley Park is only about 20 miles from me _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

| Well I suggest regional members just keep on organising things in their own country then.... and maybe we will meet up by chance once in a while (I will be doing my USA roadtrip next year now...) |

the main problem is when we haggle for five bucks on a chip we will not spend hundreds ot thousand $$$ to meet wherever.
unfortunately.
remember, such a trip would cost more than a grey 4004 for some of us.
who knows, when chip-prices go up and flying is for free ... _________________ You may use the photos I have posted here under CC BY-NC-SA license. |

I wonder if any government funding is available....
What category does CPU collecting fit into? Historical preservation? The arts? |
